Week 3

No frills, no fuss, just fundamentals to follow along to.

Challenging.

This next step is surprisingly challenging. That is assuming that you’ve managed to follow along during the last few weeks, and that you’ve managed to find, then fire and form the contractions and shapes which you’ve been making. Just because it sounds straight forwards, and looks simple, often meets a reality where your expectations and realty part ways.

Yet, wherever you find yourself on this four week adventure, or whatever you may be struggling on, know that the act of struggle has been shown to deepen connections in the mind and body. Basically, some kind of struggle has been shown to lead to greater growth than doing the easy version.

Yet if you have struggled, all I’d say is to take a step back and return to the basics again. Are you contracting your buttocks? Are you managing to push your knees down whilst you contract your buttocks? Is the thrust rounding your spine and creating healthy tensions throughout the fabric of your body. Once you can do this, all the following stuff becomes so much easier. Until then, it’ll probably be almost overwhelmingly challenging, and this is suboptimal to say the least.

So, follow along, repeat, don’t think too hard, just do it and yo’ll find that there’s some magic moments waiting for you. And you’ll only know if I am right if you do the work.

Welcome to my Substack, where I endeavour to uncover yoga, as it’s not necessarily what you think it is. 🍵
