Bottle, bottle top and the good stuff inside

Unraveling the secrets of the twists in the spinal 8

Where the essay this week went floral, descriptive and generally all word salad in my rejoicing of the spinal 8, and the twisting sequence within it. Here we have a jolly simple instructional video on how to do it and do it well.

All the good stuff is in this video. Interestingly, if you follow the instructions and really feel into the landscape they uncover, I really would encourage you to re-read the essay on this twisting sequence, as you may find the whole thing will make way more sense than even the instruction.

The point there, is that internal practice is just that. All the instructions can ever do is point us towards our inner reality, and ideally then encourage us to let go of the unnecessary tensions we come across.

Remember, softness is the active ingredient inside these shapes, so if you haven’t yet got on the soft train, then I recommend you do. If you feel you’ve missed it, then the recent essays and videos on the back bend and forward fold will help point you in the right direction.

I do hope you enjoy this one, as I enjoy practicing each day, which meant I throughly enjoyed making this for you.

Until next week. Bye bye.

Thanks for reading Jonathan’s Substack! Remember, sharing is caring. 🍵
