Turn, counter turn, soften.
Blink and they’re gone. Swing, swim and you’re back to the beginning for the final thrust, before we perform the eighth shape of the spinal 8, ‘length’. So how do we make the most of these two shapes without wasting them?
Let’s break it down into two parts.
Let the arm fall and follow the momentum.
This is a delight, as it’s like your arm becomes your dance partner, swinging you in to the perfect place. I’d practice this for a while, as the more you allow the arm to move you, the better the final posture will feel.
Screw the lid on the jar, put the key in the lock and let softened move you.
Let your body turn fully into the direction of the upper arm, then simply turn the inside of your spine counter to it, and soften.
That’s it.
I hope you enjoy the video, and I look forward to seeing you next week for the final shape in the spinal 8.
